Helping individuals and families to find appropriate services and connect with others is the core of GSNV’s day-to-day activities.
The GSNV often receives phone calls and emails from individuals and family members in many different situations. These can include individuals with a newly diagnosed condition looking for information, people who have been living with a condition for many years and require additional help, or families where a diagnosis has not yet been reached.
Being diagnosed with a genetic or rare condition may be extremely difficult and confusing for you and your family. If you or a loved one has been diagnosed recently, these resources may be able to help you navigate through this complicated time.
Knowing where to access information, services or support can play a vital role in managing your diagnosis and condition. If you are looking for useful resources or tools visit our Resources for Families and Individuals page.
Here you can find a Resource Guide for Families which has been created to summarise services that may be of assistance in Victoria and nationally and how you may access them. If you are looking for a support service you can visit our list of support services
Sometimes people find it helpful to speak with others with a similar experience. If this is something you are interested in, you can visit our list of support groups, or contact us to see if we can put you in touch with someone.
