Need a Volunteer?

The Genetic Support Network of Victoria (GSNV) invites you to put forward a task for our new Volunteer Program.

The GSNV, in conjunction with the Masters of Genetic Counselling program (University of Melbourne), is introducing a new Volunteer Program. You may have seen an introduction to the program on the GSNV website or in our recent news bulletins.  This is an opportunity for support groups to source suitable volunteers and an extra pair of hands to help out with various small tasks.  We have plenty of interested volunteers, now we need to hear from some support groups!

Duties that are considered appropriate for volunteers could be assisting with mail-outs, updating databases, creating a simple brochure, or assistance organising an event or fundraiser. Volunteers will be asked to commit to no more than one day of voluntary work per week. This is to ensure that duties taken on by volunteers adhere to the GSNV Volunteer Program Guidelines

If you have a more substantial task that you would like some assistance with, such as a small research project, it may not fit in with the constraints of this Volunteer Program. We suggest in this case that you contact us to discuss this further.

How to apply

Please contact us and we can send you more detailed information about the Volunteer Program.

We hope you will find this program valuable and we are looking forward to hearing from you soon.  The GSNV is committed to supporting support groups in order that together, we assist the community and raise awareness.
