The website for the National section of Carers Australia providing advocacy, support and information for carers. More specific information can be found at Carers Victoria,or by calling their Carer Advisory Line on 1800 242 636. See also their brochure.

Commonwealth Respite and Carelink Centres
Provides a range of services to carers of people who are aged, disabled or chronically ill including free and confidential information on support services available locally, interstate or anywhere around Australia and can be contacted on 1800 052 222.

Find a Carer
A site that allows you to advertise your need for a carer and browse profiles of individuals looking for work as a carer.

The Department of Health
The Department of Health and Ageing also have a range of fact sheets that can be accessed on their website, including Taking Care of Yourself, and Loss and Grief.

The Department of Human Services (DHS)
Intake and Response Service provides information about supports and services and can also provide assistance with planning and short-term support to people with disabilities, their families and carers in their local area. They can be contacted on 1800 783 783.

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
The NDIS is the new way of providing support for people with disability, their families and carers in Australia.
