Planning a pregnancy?

The GSNV, in partnership with Epworth HealthCare, now offers 'Pre-Pregnancy Planning' sessions for prospective parents.

Three sessions are planned for 2015 - keep an eye on the Epworth HealthCare website for more details as they become available. The GSNV will discuss genetic testing and genetic counselling with prospective parents at these classes. The message focuses on the importance of thinking about pre-conception carrier screening and attitudes to having a child with a disability, prior to pregnancy, so that decisions made both before and during pregnancy are well informed.

During these classes you will receive information about the VCGS carrier screening and prenatal screening tests including the new NIPT test 'percept'. The GSNV has specially prepared a brochure, 'Pre-Pregnancy Planning - Genetic Testing' which you can access here.
